This is the brand new version of the world-beating Garden Groom! This is a unique hedge trimmer. Not only does it trim a wide variety and depth of hedge, but it also shreds and collects the clippings! It has a unique patented collection unit for this very job - there is no other machine like it on the market.
How well does it work - well the amazing shredding action of the machine actually reduces the volume of waste by an amazing 10:1. This makes disposal of the cuttings far easier, especially if it's a thorny or spiky hedge!
The team at Garden Groom take safety seriously. For this reason, the patented handle design requires you to use both hands to operate the hedge trimmer. The totally concealed blade stops you accidentally cutting the mains cable - again, a unique feature in the world of hedge trimmers.

Here are some of the questions we are asked on a regular basis:
Q: How does the Garden Groom work?
It has a rotary cutting blade which cuts and shreds the clippings using a scissor-like action. The shredded material is then deposited into the onboard container or alternatively into the volume collection bag.
Q: What does the Garden Groom weigh?
Max - 4.1 Kg ( 9.1lbs)
Midi - 2.7Kg (6lbs)
Q: What is the maximum diameter of branch that the Garden Groom will cut?
The Garden Groom is designed to cut 12 - 18 months worth of growth, therefore we recommend that the maximum diameter of branch should be no more than:
15mm (0.6") for the Max.
10mm (0.4") for the Midi
Q: What is the capacity of the on board container?
The Max container will hold up to 7 square metres (6 litres) of clippings, cutting 6 inches in length. (6 months growth)
The Midi container will hold up to 6 square metres (5 litres) of clippings.
Q: What is the capacity of the volume bags?
The volume bag will hold at least 10 times more than the on board container.
Q: What types of hedges will the Garden Groom cut?
The Garden Groom will cut all types of hedge including:
Privet
Leylandi
Yew
Ash
Holly
Beech
Hawthorn
Q: What is the size of the motor?
Max - 430W motor
Midi - 300W motor
Q: What is the length of the cable?
10 metres (13.7 inches)
Q: What is the length of the volume bag hose?
Max - 3 metres (9.8ft)
Midi - 2.5 metres (8.2ft)
Q: Can I use the clippings for the compost?
Yes, the shredded clippings are perfect for composting.
Q: Is an RCD unit recommended?
We recommend that you use an RCD unit.
Q: What precautions should I take when operating the Garden Groom?
We recommend that safety goggles be worn at all times. Do not overreach, keep proper footing and balance at all times and always ensure you are stood on a secure platform.
Q: Will the Garden Groom collect all of the clippings?
The Garden Groom collects the vast majority of the clippings (the denser the growth, the better the collection rate).
If you find that the shredded clippings are starting to spill out of the container, this indicates that it needs emptying, we recommend that you do not over fill the onboard container.
Q: Can I operate my Garden Groom without the container?
A: Do not do this under any circumstances.
Q: Can I use my Garden Groom for anything other than cutting hedges and bushes?
No, we strongly recommend that you only use the Garden Groom for cutting hedges and bushes.
Q: My Garden Groom is making a strange noise and not collecting very well
Check the container is not full and the volume bag hose and exhaust are not blocked.
Q: Do I need to sharpen the blades of the Garden Groom?
No, because the cutting action is achieved by a rotary blade. It is the speed of the cut that is critical. The Garden Groom has been designed to require no maintenance, however should you damage the blades they are replaceable.
Q: Can I obtain spare parts/repairs?
Yes, depending upon what the parts are, you can purchase them from your Garden Groom Distributor stated at the back of your instruction manual.
