The aerator attachment cuts into the soil under your lawn with four sets of tempered steel “knives,” to permit easy absorption of water, oxygen and nutrients. Tines cut four hairline slits roughly 2 1/2 inches apart and 1 1/2 inches deep. Perfect to use in compact, clay soil.
Aerate before overseeding or spot seeding your lawn. Dethatcher Attachment quickly removes weeds and the tan-looking built-up “thatch” that can choke your lawn. The 60 spring-steel picks let you dethatch a 15" swath with a single pass.
This Mantis lawn aerator and dethatcher attachments are not suitable for the Mantis Deluxe XP Tiller.

About Mantis
Over 25 years ago a small red tiller was first introduced to UK gardeners. Its manufacturer boldly promised that the little workhorse would make gardening easier.
Back then, all tillers were big, heavy and difficult to manoeuvre. After tilling a garden with a giant beast of a machine, every muscle in your body ached.
By comparison, the small red Mantis tiller weighed in at just 20 pounds/9 kg, and you could easily pick it up with one hand to move it from garage to garden. But when you pulled the cord to start the petrol engine, the Mantis Tiller’s patented tines chewed up soil with amazing ease. Here was a piece of power equipment that actually delivered on its promises. It really did make gardening easier by taking the backbreaking strain out of tilling garden soil.
When the Mantis Tiller was first offered for sale in the UK in 1990, no one could have predicted how popular the world’s first mini-tiller would become.
Today, gardeners are happily tilling their gardens with Mantis tillers. In fact, it’s hard to find a gardener who will say anything disparaging about a Mantis tiller.
Mantis receives hundreds of unsolicited testimonial letters and emails every year. Many gardeners become fond of their Mantis tillers.
