The company began with the invention of the portable chainsaw, which transformed forestry work, and has since expanded its range to provide tools for professional users, gardeners and anyone working in and with nature. Today, STIHL employs more than 20,000 people worldwide and continues to place strong emphasis on innovation, research and development.
STIHL is committed to developing high-quality, practical tools through continual innovation and significant investment in technology. The company holds around 2,500 patents and manufactures the majority of its parts and products in-house, helping maintain its high standards of quality. Battery technology is a key area of development, alongside a focus on creating products that are easier to maintain and repair, supported by STIHL’s extensive network of Approved Dealers and long-term availability of genuine spare parts.
